Slacker

Been slacking...for, well, quite a long time it would seem. Things are going really well, working a lot and we have some big plan changes coming. We will see how everything pans out but I'm excited and extremely hopeful. I'll try posting more stuff a bit later.

the metronome swings on

In just over 2 weeks we are leaving Vermont. It's a journey, I have yet to find a job, but we have savings that should hold us for a while. It's funny that I'm moving "home" but it still feels like such an adventure. I know the opportunity is there for me to make myself something useful. Erin would tell me I'm a great husband so that I am useful....but I don't feel that way. I once had aspirations of being a scientist, a photographer, a family man. So far I've gained the latter, and it may be the most important, however I feel like a deadbeat. I grew up expecting a lot of myself and I can't say that's changed. I want to be successful in a career, not just a man living from paycheck to paycheck.
This past year and a half has been the most important thing in my life, I've married the woman I fell in love with so rapidly and I know for sure I have a family and a future in that. But I feel that I've outgrown this rural country. It's gorgeous, quiet, calming, and rich. But jobs aren't here, a career isn't here, security isn't here. I just pray that she won't resent me someday for it.
I know this move is important for our well-being and future. That's what I believe.

counting the days

(I've been slacking on posting photos, so here's one)

As I'm sitting at a dead country store I've had some sort of an epiphany. While flies circle me, occassionally buzzing by my ear, I can't help but feel that it's too quiet. I need commotion, chaos; something to keep me on my toes. It's beautiful and serene here but for some reason it's just too much and not enough at the same time.
In 26 days my wife, Erin, and I are leaving Vermont. Warm weather, sunny beaches, and disneyland await us there. I'm stoked.

So two more days and we'll be in Florida! I'm so excited it's hard to even express! Today was a lot of fun, we spent most of the day with Erin's parents. They always make the best food! And of course there were brownies. Erin looked at old photos with her mom while her dad read and I tried to get a hang of the game Go on my iphone....it's hard and frustrating. I'm excited for tomorrow cause we are going over to Erin's parents for breakfast and I really just love spending time over with them. ok well it's time to rest my mind. out.

Keeping aloft

I took this picture a few weeks ago on whim when I saw this in the sunset. It's the only state that I can recall ever seeing hot air balloons and it still seems to fascinate me. There is just something cool about the whole scene. On another note some kid just handed me, literally, a wad of money. There are few things that really grate on my nerves but that is definatley one of them. Do me a favor and straighten out your money. I don't like having to feel like I'm doing one of those metal puzzles in order to get your money in a drawer. haha anyways he's lucky I'm in a good mood ^_^
1 week from today I'll be in florida!

nostalgia

There are times that I really miss being with my friends in Cali. I think a lot has to do with the fact they were an inspiration to me to pic up that camera and shoot. Kyle and Justin helped feed my creativity, I always looked up to them for their photography. Kyle just always had a knack for pulling amazing shots out of his butt haha. And Justin, well Justin is Justin. He always never ceased to put me in awe. It's been awhile since I've felt inspired to take photos and I'm starting to really feel like it's something I need to do again. I've decided that my 20D will be accompanying Erin and I to Florida. Here's to looking forward to lots of great photos and opportunities!

catching up (2pic special!)

Yesterday Erin and I decided to have some fun together and play with some paint. This is my creation. Erin loves it but I'm not completely sold, but it may grow on me. We grabbed some acrylic paint along with some sale canvas from Michaels. After laying newspaper out, outside we went at it. Erin's piece came out very nice and I love it. I'll leave it to her to post on her blog though. I have some ideas for the next one I want to do, hopefully it'll come out better haha.

and here's number 2! Vermont can be so beautiful when it's not raining. Unfortunately it's just as rainy as Seattle, Washington so I hear.

rain anyone?

Today marks the thousandth day of rain this summer. Sure, I know there isn't even that many days in a year. I swear you could probably count the days of sun we've had on two hands. haha. buuut I guess I should be thankful it isnt snow...yet. I'm definatley ready to live in a warm state again. As long as Erin is with me, I'm good.

Faster? Please?

It's amazing how slowly a day could go by. 11 days and counting until we can escape this place, if just for a little while. Erin bought a dress for our big week in Florida and I'll be honest, I can't wait to see it on her. This church in this photo has a lot of significance to me just for the fact that it was where I spent a few hours of my first christmas eve with my (now) wife. To this day I feel like the luckiest man on the face of this earth. :)

so here's to day two. Erin's sitting next to me making origami, really it's what made me fall for her. Well that and her ability to kick my ass at Dead of Alive.

I forgot to mention last night that in 12 days Erin and I are going to Florida to really get to enjoy some time away from work and everything. I'm incredibly stoked to show Erin my past and where I come from. I'm also pretty excited to get just enjoy beaches and some hot weather!

So on August 11th we will be on a jet to the hot sunny beaches and we will be having one hell of a time, better believe it!

Konban wa!

so I've made a decision, starting today I will be posting a new photo a day. Most of which I will be taking with my glorious little phone. Over a year ago I left California to start a new and different life with my (then) fiancee. Since then I have seemingly lost much of the flare for photography. Whether it's because of school or not, I'm unsure. This is an attempt to recapture that passion I once let shine through my darkest days.

Aside from that I've been teaching myself Japanese when I have the time and I must say it's a lot of fun! On that note I am signing off because I don't really have much else to jot down here.

Adjusting

I have to say its so nice to get to be home on the week nights and not be crushing my fingers under boxes and bruising up my knees.  I still have a lingering pain in my wrist from handling everything you people ship, it sucks haha.  

Today i spent a little bit of time in the garden weeding out some unwanted crap and planting some peas and cucumber seeds. In the process I stumbled upon a hoarde of tomato plants that just decided to start sprouting.  It's like a little army of plants all over the garden. I'll have to post up some pictures of our little sanctuary. I don't really know what to write about right now, I feel a bit braindead.

Long time coming

so my last blog was on... let's see.. march 4th. Now it is June 21st, and what do I have to say for myself?

nothing? Probably, I've been pretty busy and preoccupied with everything else in my life. I got married just over 2 months ago now and I have to say it's the best thing that's ever happened to me. Our trip to California was nothing short of awesome and amazing. Hanging out with Justin, Kyle, and Ada was more fun than I could've ever hoped it would have been. To this day I still think of our trip and wish we could just go back....mmmmm Genki Living anyone? mmmmm @_@

his awesome app on the iphone called Human Japanese. If you've ever wanted to dive into the world of the Japanese language I would suggest looking that up. At least now I can pronounce stuff properly..well at least a lot closer than my americanized slaughtering of a language.

annnnnnyway, yesterday Erin and I took a little trip down to southern Vermont to visit Manchester, VT and we "browsed" the designer outlets we stumbled upon on the internet.  In an attempt to try to put some of my old days to work I took a picture. Yup that's right, I took a picture @_@

I will probably do a little more work on it to hone it but I happen to like it.

Today was father's day and we spent it over at the in-laws house playing with chickens and eating lemon pound cake.  If you are saying "mmm lemon pound cake" then good cause you should be it was delicious.

So that's pretty much it for now, I'll try to update more often and stop slacking haha. I know Erin would love it if I started blogging more. So on that note I leave you with an image that I call "Chicken Dance", cut and print.

In the swing of things

Its wednesday and I have to work, blah.  I know the money won't hurt but still I kinda like my week broken up. Good news is that I have my job back at UPS, but we'll see how long that lasts again. I don't have my hopes too high. This morning could have gone a bit better, I screwed up and made Erin late for work so I'm hoping she won't hold that against me for too long. Erin if you are reading this I loooovveeee you and I'm really sorry. 

I had two slices, might go on number 3, of Erin's amazing banana bread she made me over the weekend.....you know i think i want that number 3..hang on..

snow storms and spring dreams

Hey look its the second day in a row and...well shit I'm posting. Amazing, I know.
But today we had a snowstorm....they were calling for 9inches of snow but I don't know if that's what we really got. Regardless, I'm quite ready for spring to arrive. There are many reasons for this, such as now no more snow....warmth...annnndd car related stuff haha.
For anyone who doesn't know I'm a car guy and more specifically a Honda guy. But i have my thing for Toyotas also. I drive a 95 Honda Civic CX 3d and it's my baby, just something for me to waste money on. A couple weeks ago my fiancee was a little sneak and went and concocted a plan with my buddy and ended up buying me his alloys from his car for my car.

They are the stock alloys from his 01(i think) civic si at a 15 inch size....compared to the stock 13s that came on my car. so it's quite an upgrade and I'm so excited. 

After a bit of patience and work (and money) am 

now ready to put the wheels on the car. Now with their new shoes they are very ready for the roads. And where is where the weather comes into play...these are "ultra" performance summer tires so they don't make a good pairing with snow....and by not good i mean quite dangerous if i get caught out in snow haha. so That's not something I can risk.

Anyways thats whats going on now, You got to see the amazing gift that Erin got me. She really is too good to me but that's ok cause I try to be good to her too. Whenever I get the new wheels on I will most definately be posting pictures of my car. so keep checking back!

its 12:30 and a sunday

haha yeah so I definatly haven't posted in quite a while...I have things going on that just tend to steal my attention. which is strange since i havent worked at UPS since uhh...2 weeks ago i think. Bad but what can you do...it's hard though cause the couple days i did work last i really honestly hated it. A new shift supervisor took over and to be honest she is just garbage. She has been changing how things operate and thats cool and all but it creates so much stress on everyone else. I just regret going into work...but what can i do.
That aside, though, my wedding is drawing closer and closer...today marks the 1st day of March so that gives me about a month and a half...or something lol. Yes I'm super stoked and I'm so ready. I was going to type more but I'm going to head off cause i need sleep or else i'll most likely die tomorrow. I'll try to update again soon.

holy crap

I'm missing out! no but really time moves by pretty quickly and I forget to post. I'm bad. I've been temporarily laid off from UPS but I pretty much have worked almost every day..its ridiculous I know. Saturday night i got to hang out with my friend Josh and it was nice to get to hang out with a friend...you know, since i don't really have any around here. Tomorrow I'm working 8am-12pm then going to find Josh and go take pictures and teach him some photoshop awesomeness. you know i don't really know what to write haha. well our wedding is coming up quickly and we pretty much have everything set. A few things here and there but I'm so stoked. Let's just cross our fingers though and hope everything goes as planned haha, I'm very sure they will though.

Just another thursday

So it's thursday...I need to get better on coming on and posting on my blog. I'm just so damned busy most of the time though...and when I'm not working I'm with my fiancee, and trust me I have better things to be doing than blog constantly haha. On to other things, my birthday was two days ago and I'm now 23. honestly I feel old now haha...couldn't tell you what the huge difference is between 22 and 23 but it's just some odd feeling. Erin tells me I'm silly and I am, I know haha. Erin made me cupcakes to my specifications and we had her dad over for dinner for some homemade sweet and sour chicken and jasmine rice. It was pretty amazing as always. My parents gave me some cash, and by some I mean too much, to go snowboarding which I'm excited to get to do. Assuming I get the time or motivation to get up and go out in the cold haha. Erin made me a coupon book (she's so cute, I love you hun ^_^).

By the way Justin, Kyle, I never want to hear you say you're cold again. It was -10 this morning when I took out the garbage and recycling. You know when it's cold when you step outside and your lungs feel like they literally freeze up and the tears in the corner of your eyes feel like they go solid. Tonight it's supposed to be -18 or something...some say -20 give or take. We'll see but I can assure you it'll be cold.
